Raghuveer Muppavarapu, MD is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and fellowship trained in hand and upper extremity surgery. He is the Chief of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Carney Hospital. He is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic hand and upper extremity surgeon and has been practicing orthopedic surgery in the greater Boston area for over 15 years. Dr. Muppavarapu specializes in hand and upper extremity fractures, trigger finger, carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, tendon ruptures, hand and wrist deformity, and hand rejuvenation.
Dr. Muppavarapu earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois, College of Medicine in Chicago where he was in a 7-year early acceptance combined medical and undergraduate program. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Tufts Affiliated Hospitals Orthopedic Residency Program in Boston and his fellowship in orthopaedic upper extremity surgery at the prestigious New York University/Hospital of Joint Diseases in New York City. He is an Assistant Professor at Boston University Medical Center and a clinical instructor at Tufts University School of Medicine. These academic and clinical affiliations help Dr. Muppavarapu provide his patients with the most up-to-date and highest quality orthopaedic surgery and hand surgery care.
