Dr. Snead joins our practice after spending more than 18 years at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, where he was instrumental in founding Sturdy Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine (SOSMA). He served as Chief of Orthopaedics for a decade and has practiced orthopaedic surgery for over 25 years. Throughout his career, Dr. Snead has earned a strong reputation as a trusted and respected physician, recognized for both his clinical expertise and leadership.

He received his doctor of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine, completed his residency at Ochsner Clinic and Foundation Hospital in Louisiana, and did a sports and Arthroscopy fellowship at Union Memorial/MedSTAR Health in Baltimore while working with the Baltimore Ravens for that year.

As a former athlete, Dr. Snead discovered his passion for orthopedics early on, drawn to the challenge and excitement of the field. Now he’s dedicated to helping his patients get back to doing what they love.

Dr. Snead brings a particular expertise in shoulder and knee arthroscopy. Whether it’s performing a total shoulder replacement or repairing torn rotator cuffs, labral tears, or performing ACL reconstructions, he uses cutting-edge techniques to ensure the best outcomes with minimal recovery time.

In his spare time, Dr. Snead enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and staying active outdoors through trail running, hiking and skiing. Those pursuits reflect his commitment to an active, balanced lifestyle-both personally and professionally.
